What is the weather like this time of year ?

Early September lies in what Kurt Tucholsky calls the 5th season.. not quite fall yet but also not quite summer anymore…Often, it is sunny with temperatures up to 25 degrees during the days but cools off in the evenings and can get quite chilly at night. As we are by the sea it will likely be windy, so prepare for wind chill factor and if unlucky, rain. The main party locations is outdoors, we are planning to dance on the grass. If the weather does not hold, the marquis and indoor areas will protect us from cold and rain.

Where to stay?

Here are several possibilities for accommodation:

On the premise:

The summer camp has limited beds for 70 people in dormitories and a few smaller rooms which we will reserve for those of you that come with children. You will have to bring your own linen and towels.

There is also possibility to pitch a tent on the grounds (limited to 5 tent spots, first come first serve) or you can also park and sleep in your car on site.

Yderby (local village 5km away from the wedding venue)

For those who prefer a bit of quiet from the party, there are a few options in the local village (see for example Airbnb or booking.com), which we recommend booking soon. If you need help with it, ping us a message.

Dresscode?

From 1pm onwards on Saturday (ceremony & afterparty) we ask you to dress up and look your best:

Recommendations for Copenhagen & the area

The official city guide of Copenhagen is a good address for recommendations but here is our curated list of things to do:

  • A trip to the Louisiana museum / a short train ride north of the city, it is a must for anyone interested in art & architecture… but just the scenery and great lunch will also appeal to the rest of us
  • Explore the city by bike!
    • Here is a list of pit stops/routes, available on Google Maps: Copenhagen · Ellen
      • Enghave Plads, Vesterbro – for a very good cup of coffee at Enghave Kaffe and people watching on the square.
      • Nørrebro: Assistens Kirkegaard, Ravensborggade, Jaegersborggade…
      • People watching: stop for a Gin Tonic at Casino Royal on Kongens Nytorv
      • Refshaleøen, come to watch the sun set on Reffen, ideally after a dip in the sea, with a glass of wine at La Banchina or at the street food market.
  • Have a “bolle med ost”, a bun with cheese or a some danish pastries at one of the many great bakeries in town: Juno has the best cardamom buns but other good addresses are Prolog Coffee, Democratic Coffee, Coffee Collective, Original Coffee, Brød, Hart Bakery, Flere Fugle, Darcy’s…)
  • Take a walk along the canal: starting at Islands Brygge over the Olafur Eliasson bridge all the way to Papiroen or from Nordhavn to Nyhavn, along Lange Linie. Here, you will pass the Little Mermaid amidst many other tourists … it is worth it, she is tiny but very beautiful.
  • Get an amazing view over the city from the golden tower in Christianshavn
  • Go dine & dancing in Meatpacking District
